This painting captures a moment of preparation and anticipation. Moses is preparing to appear before God where he will be given the 10 Commandments. He’s putting his scrolls in order so that he can be ready for this most important of jobs. Everything must be right, but there is a wind blowing and Moses is beginning to lose control.
