Painting Title:- Mayor Boswell Confronted by Jesus
On Thursday, January 11th, 2007, Turner read an article in the national newspaper the Daily Express with the headline reading "Council axes Christian prayers after 600 years". The article stated how Mayor Boswell of Totnes Town Council (Devon), herself a practising Roman Catholic, had ordered that Christian prayers before meetings, be replaced with a "quiet moment of reflection", so the Council could be sensitive to others needs.
Here, Jesus challenges Major Boswell's decision, though she seems oblivious to his protest.
